THE DESIGN TO WIN ROAD MAP FAQ

The fly that has no one to advise him, follows a corpse to the grave – African Proverb

Successful vs. Unsuccessful People

Why is it that successful people, sometimes with less potential and fewer opportunities, often accomplish vastly more than others? I believe one of the reasons is because they are clear about what they want to do with their lives. They think long term and plan for their future before acting.  According to best-selling author and success expert, Brian Tracy, “Clarity is probably 95% of success. The greater clarity you have about who you are and what you want, the easier it is for you to succeed under almost any condition or circumstances.”[1

No wonder world-renowned career expert and job-hunting specialist for over 40 years, Dr. Richard Bolles exclaims, “The world is astonished when it meets someone who knows where they are going with their life. That is such a rare kind of strength.” Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have this rare kind of strength from early and to astonish the world with your progress?

The good news is that you can! You can become part of the 3% of people who are considered most successful. You can do this through our Design to Win Road Map whether you are 16 or 60 years old. You can position yourself to win using our Design to Win Road Map. The next series of questions and answers will explain what the Design to Win Road Map is all about and how it can help you to astonish the world with your progress and win in your life and career.

  1. Why should you buy this book?

Clarity, Skills and Strategies: Above all this book provides the clarity, coping skills and key life-management strategies that youth and Millennials need to win in their personal lives and careers as young adults.

Very often many youth and Millennials after graduating from high school and university/college are still not sure what to do with their lives. This often results in unemployment or them being employed and unhappy either struggling for survival or living a life of insignificance. The Design to Win Road Map along with coaching will help them to escape these situations or  redesign their life and work to do what they love, so they can feel more fulfilled and happier in their lives.

Training and Coaching Tool: This book is a practical tool to be used in coaching or training. It is not just a book to be read. It will be especially beneficial to career coaches, guidance counsellors, personal development trainers, mentors and other youth influencers who are preparing young people to make wise career choices and equipping them to win at life.

A proven system and progress plan: The strategies outlined in this book are based on proven steps which have transformed the author’s life and those of her students and clients over the years. The book will help you to deal with failure, manage your time and create a strategic action plan for your progress in the next 1-5 years.

Employment, Fulfilling Life and Career: Over 80 percent of today’s workforce hates their jobs. The book will help to reduce this percentage of employed and unhappy workers. This book contains strategies which will help our young people to find and do work they love.

Effective Adult Lives: Very often our educational institutions emphasize qualification or becoming certified so that you can get a job. They do not intentionally prepare you to live effectively as adults and teach you how to excel at work. This book seeks to bridge this gap.

  1. Why did you write this book?

I wrote this book based on a divine call to empower people to win in their lives and careers, as well as a call from participants exposed to the Design to Win Road Map, to teach this framework to young people nationwide. Very often they asked me, “Why didn’t they teach us this in high school?” Others explicitly told me to teach this in every school and to as many young people as possible.

Additionally, I wrote this book because of my own struggles and regrets in my life and career. I have redesigned my life and career three times since I entered the working world. I was the educated and unhappy worker. I was the educated and unsuccessful young person struggling for survival. This struggle led me to find solutions which have changed my life. These solutions and strategies are now coded in the “Design to Win Road Map.”

  1. What do you hope to accomplish in this book?

I want to see lives transformed. I want to see people doing the work they love, living a life of significance, fulfilling their purpose and dreams and being happy doing it. I want to see less people struggling for survival and more people flourishing in their lives and work.

  1. Who needs this book?

Everyone who wants to win should get the Design to Win Road Map. However, this edition of the book is particularly geared towards young people ages 16-34 years. There will be an edition for older persons. But whether you are 16 or 60 this book will be beneficial as the Design to Win Road Map itself [the framework] is not dependent on age. It is a proven system that people of all ages can use to win at life.

All training institutions and those involved in personal and professional development should get this book. All High School teachers, parents of teens and young adults, youth leaders and guidance counsellors should get it.

  1. What does it mean to win at life?

Winning like success means different things to different people. To win at life refers to fulfilling ones purpose and achieving ones major life and career goals despite the odds. It is living effectively and doing well holistically [body, soul and spirit]. It is being successful in both the earthly realm and the eternal realm. The book delves more into this and uses author Zig Ziglar’s true life-winner test as a basic standard to measure your progress.

  1. How can you use this book?

You should use this book for personal development to design or redesign your life and career. It can be used as a training tool in any coaching, mentoring, personal development or capacity building program.

To this end the book comes with a free coaching guide and a self-paced course “Design to Win Fundamentals” to further help those who plan to use the book as training tool to get the most out of it.

I strongly recommend it to career coaches, guidance counsellors, mentors, career development practitioners,  teachers, parents and other influencers to help our youths to become fit for work and fit for life. It can be used by career starters or career redesigners/reinventors to find and do work they love.
