Shaped for Purpose Chronicles 2: Shaped by the Book of Ruth

Likkle but tallawah —Jamaican Proverb

IN JAMAICA, THE PROVERB likkle but tallawah means small but great.

Small books can be powerful and effective. For example, the book of Ruth in the Bible has only four chapters but has been said to be one of the greatest pieces of literature ever written. This short book has just a little over 2000 words in the original Hebrew language but continues to inspire and impact generations for over 2000 years.

Ruth has become my favourite book in the Bible. The book of Ruth is the roadmap for my life. Hence, the adoption of the author pen name Ruth, and my subsequent quest to study, live out and become like this book. The short book of Ruth has inspired my new publishing model to teach Caribbean people and others in the diaspora how to write fast, publish affordable and powerful non-fiction books to transform lives for generations and create sustainable for their retirement.

My New Publishing Model

The book of Ruth is inspiring a new generation of Indie Authors from across the Caribbean and other Developing countries to fulfil their writing and publishing dreams, to build a legacy with our stories, our culture, our expertise and our faith. The book of Ruth is inspiring the vision of impact multiplied and enabling me to run the extra mile as I get older. It is helping me to fulfill my call to exalt God and empower people. We are writing Ruth-like books.

As it relates to writing and publishing, small does not mean ineffective. Fast does not mean inferior quality. Therefore, you don’t need to take 10 years to write a big impactful book. You can write a small Ruth-like, powerful life-transforming book now!

Therefore, I beseech you: write short books. They will be written faster, cost less to publish and more likely to be read in its entirety. Someone’s destiny is tied to your book. Someone’s deliverance is tied to your book. Someone’s healing is tied to your book.  Don’t keep them waiting! Write it Now!
